About Us

WQVR is an independent, volunteer-based, community radio station. Our vision is to provide a broadcast voice to the voiceless...to those in our community who are otherwise un-represented or under-represented by mainstream media. Our music programming includes country, celtic and bluegrass. Our local and national public affairs programming includes shows dealing with working class, peace, justice, GLBT, and alternative health issues.


The Eye 1640 AM went live at 12:00 am on January 1, 2010 with the live stream
and limited AM broadcast at 1640 AM.
